An animated 2-D and 3-D film from Dreamworks with the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson

(This review is written to the song “Puff, The Magic Dragon” by Leonard Lipton and Peter Yarrow, which was sung by Peter, Paul and Mary)

Berk, a Viking village nestled by the sea
And battled in the darkened mist a band of dragons to flee

Little Hiccup Haddock tried to battle gruff,
And crafted slings and flying things and other fancy stuff. Oh

Berk, a Viking village nestled by the sea
And tussled with those winged beasts to make its land dragon free
Berk, a Viking Village set out to sea
And searched for those fierce dragons’ lair in ships sans Hiccup’s glee

All their ships they would travel on the sea with billowed sail
Hiccup kept a toothless beast and road its gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whene’er they came,
Viking ships would lower their flags when Hic tried to make his name. Oh

Berk, a Viking Village fought Hic to see
That dragons in the autumn mist must not be roped at his knee
Berk, a Viking Village fought mightily
With Hiccup and his Toothless dragon that he could not let flee

A dragon lives for his friend a plucky little boy
Fashioned wings and giant slings make way for many joys.
One grey night it happened, Hiccup Haddock came to soar
And his pal mighty dragon, he used his helpful roar.

His head was bent in battle, dark scales shielding rain,
He no longer went to play along the merry lane.
Joining his life-long friend, Hic was very brave,
So Hic and mighty dragon wrenched a king beast from his cave. Oh

Berk, a Viking village now had the key
To frolic with their dragon friends in a land right by the sea
Berk’s Viking village is a film to see
And frolic with the fun and gist and from which you will not flee
