Former Congresswoman Schroeder keynotes Jeffco Dems gala

The Jefferson County Democrats hosted the 36th Annual Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner on September 19 at the Marriott Denver West. Judi Butz, the 2010 recipient of the “Eleanor Award” was recognized for her longtime work and volunteerism for the county Democratic Party and for Democratic candidates.

Judi was also honored last year by the Colorado Democratic Party as volunteer of the year.

Keynote speaker, former Congresswoman Pat Schroeder, delighted the dinner attendees with her trademark wit and observations on the current state of politics in Colorado and the country as a whole. A VIP reception for Pat and her husband Jim Schroeder was packed with enthusiastic friends and supporters including among others, Pat Waak, Democratic Party Chair, Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CD 7), Judi Butz, State Party Vice Chair Carolyn Boller, long time Jeffco Democrat, 92 year old Coralie Brown, Senator Moe Keller (SD 20) and County Party Chair Ann Knollman.

Party activists and elected officials who were spotted enjoying the dinner included Congressman Jared Polis (CD 2), Linda Rockwell, John Flerlage, candidate (CD 6), Rep. Sue Schafer (HD 24), Jefferson County Commissioner Kathy Hartman, Karen and George Pramenko, Cheri Jahn candidate (SD 20), Rick Johnson UTU State Legislative Director, Rep. Sara Gagliardi (HD 27), Ken Fellman, Lakewood City Counselor Karen Kellen, Guy Santo, Barb Johnson, Sen. Betty Boyd (SD 21) and Rep. Andy Kerr (HD 26).
