“I would like to find a stew that will give me heartburn immediately, CHICK-FIL-A RESTAURANT OPENING AT THE SITE OF THE FORMER Black-eyed Pea in Lakewood is the 66th stand-alone Chick-fil-A store slated to open this year. Nationally, there are, at this writing more than 1523 stores in 38 states. This will be the 920th stand-alone store. This will be the first stand-alone store in Lakewood. In addition, there are 336 mall stores (including Southwest Plaza), and 214 license locations (universities, colleges, airports, etc.). That’s a growth trend to scare some financial planner but not the folks at Chick-fil-A. You speaka Italiano? You eatta Italiano?

TIME SURE DOES FLY WHEN YOU’RE HAVING FUN, and I can’t think of anything more fun than going to the seventh annual Italian Food and Wine Festival to be held at Belmar in Lakewood from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, September 11 and 12. This is a week earlier than prior years. Note that there is always lotsa free parking. Where to eat if you ain’t into fair fare at the state fair

All you Denverites, Lakewoodonians, Arvadites, Wheat Ridgers, Golden Oldies, Evergreenies, Pagosanians, Fremontonians and all the rest of you Coloradans — even those from the Peoples Republic of Boulder — drive down/up/across to Pueblo and visit the funnest fair of ‘em all. I really do luv the state fair. In its 138th year, the state fair runs eleven days, from Friday, August 27 thru Monday, September 6 (Labor Day). G and I haven’t decided which of our six perfect grandchildren we’re taking this year, but rest assured we’ll be there, exhausted after about two hours. And staying about eight hours. BOSS JODY SEZ it’s time for the state assemblies of both the Democrats and the Republicans, and with so many burning issues, I thought I’d list some you might find suitable to your dining needs. While I have eaten at some of them, the rest of the list was furnished by a variety of trusted former friends. If the place ain’t there anymore, sorry. This northern burb has grown by leaps and bounds since the county incorporated itself and the metro area has run out of land room.
